Mick Jagger (and James Coburn) star in a new movie called The Man From Elysian Fields. Ebert & Roeper got in a huge argument over it... Ebert: A rare wit and sophistication... Smart... funny...emotional... Serious... One of the best movies of the year. Roeper: Implausible... Everything fell apart for me... Ebert: You have completely lost the point of this movie! Roeper: I have not lost the point of this movie...! Ebert: It's a movie! It's a story...! Roeper: Roger, I'm very aware that it's a movie... It's almost like a Twilight Zone. Or a Red Shoe Diaries, if you will.... The brouhaha ended with Ebert calling Roeper's quibbles about the plot "irrelevant" to other peoples' enjoyment of the film. 10/07/2002
