Tuesday

Phil Specter produced some of the most beloved records in the history of pop music. Many of them were written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.

What a great job, I'm thinking. Turns out NPR's Fresh Air interviewed them as part of a week-long series about American popular music. And it was fascinating. Also on the show were Lesley Gore and Bobby Vee (telling an amazing story about Bob Dylan.) Tuesday they brought on Ronnie Spector and Brian Wilson, and up Wednesday it's Bill Wyman, Pete Townsend, and Ray Davies.

What can I say? Living vicariously through their stories about rock legends was exciting.
